In an unexpected departure from tradition, Samsung, known for initially rolling out beta programs to its flagship devices, surprised many by extending the One UI 6 beta program to the Galaxy A54 last week. Now, the tech giant continues to break with convention by offering the beta to yet another one of its budget-friendly smartphones.
As reported by SamMobile, owners of the Galaxy A34 in the UK can now participate in the One UI 6 beta program, featuring firmware version A346BXXU4ZWI1, with a hefty download size exceeding 2GB. To enlist, simply install the Samsung Members app, log in using your Samsung account credentials, and click on the One UI 6 beta program banner.
As of now, the One UI 6 beta program is accessible for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy A54, and the Galaxy A34. Unfortunately, for Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, and S22 users, the wait for eligibility continues. Adding to the disappointment, this marks the first time Samsung has extended its beta program to a Galaxy A3x model.
When Samsung initially announced the A54 update, it framed the move as an effort to “recruit” more users for OS testing. Given the substantial user base of A54 and A34 devices, it’s a logical strategy for Samsung to engage this audience to gather feedback on its rendition of Android 14.
While the beta program for the A34 is currently limited to the UK, it’s expected to expand to other regions in due course.
