In the latest update from Mark Gurman, more information has surfaced regarding Apple’s forthcoming budget-friendly version of the Vision Pro AR/VR headset. According to the analyst, the primary feature being sacrificed to reduce costs is the EyeSight functionality.

The EyeSight feature relies on an external OLED display and input from cameras and sensors integrated into the headset. By omitting these components, Apple aims to significantly lower the price tag, targeting a range of $1,500 to $2,500 for the product.

It’s worth noting that earlier reports indicate the more affordable Vision Pro may not hit the market until 2025, while any hardware upgrades to the current version are likely postponed until 2027.

Gurman’s newsletter also includes insights into upcoming Apple products powered by the M3 chip, which encompass MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, and iPads. Gurman mentioned that Apple has completed the development of these devices, but an official announcement date remains unknown. However, it is confirmed that the announcement won’t take place this month.

One of the anticipated products is the new iPad Pro, rumored to feature an OLED display, a redesigned form factor, an updated Magic Keyboard, and a faster processor.

As for the MacBook Pros equipped with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips, they are slated for release in the spring of 2024, with chip mass production swiftly approaching. Unfortunately, the MacBook Airs will require more time and are expected to launch, likely, in the following summer.
