When Activision first unveiled Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile in 2022, they had initially indicated that the game would launch sometime in the same year, following the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. However, the latest update from Activision reveals a new release timeline, with the mobile version now set to debut in the spring of 2024. While no specific launch date has been provided, interested gamers can already pre-order the game on Google Play and the App Store.
Warzone Mobile promises to deliver a battle royale experience, accommodating up to 120 players on a single map. The operators, weaponry, locations, and combat mechanics will all be designed to resonate with existing Warzone enthusiasts. Additionally, the game will introduce a shared Battle Pass and cross-progression, bridging the gap between Modern
Warfare II and Warzone 2.0. While the wider release is slated for 2024, players in Australia, Chile, Norway, and Sweden have been fortunate enough to enjoy early access since earlier this year. This “limited release” serves as a valuable opportunity for Activision to gauge player feedback, identify and rectify bugs, and conduct thorough stress tests on gameplay and various game elements, beyond what a Closed Alpha can offer.
In an exciting development, Activision has also disclosed that Warzone Mobile will grant players access to Rebirth Island from the moment of its launch. The beloved Resurgence mode map has been painstakingly tailored and crafted exclusively for the mobile platform.
For fans eagerly awaiting the arrival of Modern Warfare III, Raven Software has confirmed a significant gameplay mechanic: the return of slide canceling, a feature notably absent from Modern Warfare II. It’s worth noting, however, that this mechanic’s reintroduction will come with a change – it will no longer reset Tactical Sprint.
