In close collaboration with Square Enix, Playstation is strategically positioning Square Enix as one of their prominent “2nd party” developers. Despite the eventual availability of these games on other platforms, particularly PC, Playstation continues to spearhead their promotion.
While some collaborations have resulted in disappointing games, others have birthed gems, such as the most anticipated JRPG of 2024 – Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The good news? You can now get a taste of its storyline through the available demo.
Confirming earlier rumors, Square Enix and Sony concluded this morning’s State of Play event with the announcement of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo for Playstation 5. With a substantial size of around 50GB, this demo features two scenarios. Currently, only the “Nibelheim” scenario is available, where you embark on an adventure with Sephiroth through a flashback phase.
Further scenarios, including the Junon area offering a new open-world concept, will be available following the upcoming release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Completing it will reward you with items like the Kupo Charm and Survival Set, which will carry over if you decide to delve into the full version later.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is slated for release on February 29, 2024, for Playstation 5. Have you tried out this captivating demo yet?
