Google is gearing up for its fall hardware event, where it will unveil its latest products. The highlight of the event will be the Pixel showcase in New York City, and you’re invited to join in by tuning into the livestream of the “Made by Google” event. The event is scheduled to kick off at 1 PM ET on October 4th, and you can watch the livestream on the designated platform. Additionally, we will provide comprehensive coverage of all the crucial Pixel-related updates right here on Engadget, including a live blog.

The main attraction of the event has been no secret. Google has been teasing the launch of the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2 for several weeks through images and videos, and leaks have only added to the excitement.

According to Google, the new Pixel phones boast “the most advanced Pixel cameras yet, along with Google AI to help you accomplish tasks more efficiently.” Rumors suggest there will be significant improvements in specifications, including a display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, surpassing the Pixel 7’s 90Hz screen.

Powering these devices will be the Tensor G3 chipset. Meanwhile, there are indications of a potential price hike for the base Pixel 8, with rumors suggesting it could cost $699, $100 more than the Pixel 7.

Regarding the Pixel Watch 2, it is expected to come with IP68 water and dust resistance. Google appears to be prioritizing extended battery life by employing a more efficient processor compared to the original model, possibly accompanied by a slightly larger battery. Additionally, there are hints that Google may offer a Pixel Watch 2 as a complimentary item for those who pre-order a Pixel 8 Pro.

During the event, Google might also touch upon other topics. Given the company’s recent focus, it would not be surprising if a significant portion of the event is dedicated to discussing AI updates. Regardless, we won’t have to wait long to discover what Google has in store for us.
