How to Watch Meta Connect 2023

You can catch the entire Meta Connect 2023 event on Facebook/Meta or through the Horizon’s World app on your Quest or Quest 2 headset. To use the latter option, you’ll need a Facebook account, so be sure to sign up if you haven’t already. Meta has also mentioned that it will stream the event on “various social channels,” so you’ll likely find a stream on their Twitter feed or YouTube channel.

Alternatively, you can register on the official website and attend the event in person at the Meta headquarters. This marks the first live show of its kind for Meta since 2019.

The event will begin at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET on September 27, with Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote address.

What to Expect from Meta Connect 2023

The most anticipated announcement, which is sure to excite everyone, is the Meta Quest 3. This next-generation mainstream VR headset has been teased for quite some time, with Mark Zuckerberg recently sharing tantalizing details about the VR device. Among the revelations is that it will be notably thinner and lighter than its counterparts, such as the Quest Pro and Apple’s planned Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

The Quest 3 is also expected to advance mixed reality, with a strong focus on high-fidelity camera pass-through. It will feature redesigned controllers, significantly faster onboard processing, and improved visuals thanks to enhanced screen resolution. The price tag is expected to be $500, although there may be optional versions with more storage and a higher price point.

Meta is also eager to highlight its software developments and showcase noteworthy games and mixed reality experiences that it hopes will usher in a new generation of VR and mixed reality users. The event will also delve into artificial intelligence (AI), with Zuckerberg himself keen to emphasize the ongoing AI developments at Meta and how they will enhance virtual reality experiences. Since the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Meta has been working on its own large language model AIs and AI-driven applications, so there’s a possibility they will feature them at Connect 2023.

Other announced Meta Connect talks and presentations include a closer look at more realistic avatars, neural interfaces, and discussions for developers on how to enhance their VR games and experiences.
