Huawei recently took the wraps off its latest Mate 60 series of smartphones in China. Surprisingly, these new devices made their debut on Huawei Mall without the traditional fanfare of a launch event. However, the company has now officially confirmed that it will host a launch event on September 25 at 2:30 pm local time in China.
While Huawei has yet to reveal specific details about the products to be unveiled during this event, it is anticipated that the brand will delve deeper into the standout features of the Mate 60 series and the Mate X5 foldable phone.
Rumors suggest that Huawei might also introduce the Huawei Mate 60 Ultimate RS Design, speculated to be a special edition variant of the Mate 60 Pro+. Furthermore, the company may use the occasion to announce several other products, such as new MatePads, FreeBuds TWS earbuds, among others. There have been murmurings about a Pocket-branded clamshell phone in development, but its inclusion in the September 25 event remains uncertain.
The significance of the Mate 60 series and the Mate X5 lies in the fact that these devices represent Huawei’s first foray into 5G-enabled devices following the US sanctions. All these devices are powered by the Kirin 9000s chipset.
Additionally, the Huawei Mate 60, Mate 60 Pro, and Mate X5 offer support for two-way messaging through satellite connectivity, while the Mate 60 Pro+ takes it a step further with two-way calling via satellite connectivity.
