Huawei recently hosted a product launch event in China, unveiling the new Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design edition, along with a new tablet addition known as the MatePad Pro 13.2. True to its name, this tablet boasts a substantial 13.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 2880 pixels and an impressive 144Hz refresh rate. The panel features a 3:2 aspect ratio and can reach a peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits.

The front of the tablet houses a 16MP front-facing camera, elegantly accommodated within a notch cutout along the horizontal side of the screen. The MatePad Pro 13.2 flaunts remarkably thin bezels, enhancing its overall aesthetic. To optimize voice quality during calls, the tablet is equipped with a total of six speakers and four microphones.

Remarkably slim at just 5.5mm and weighing a mere 580 grams, the MatePad Pro 13.2 also showcases a distinctive brocade fiber design on the back, accompanied by a circular camera island that incorporates a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide sensor.

While Huawei did not officially disclose the chipset used in the MatePad Pro 13.2, speculation suggests that it is powered by the same Kirin 9000s chipset featured in the Mate 60 series. The tablet is available in a Wi-Fi-only variant with options for 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage capacities of 256GB, 512GB, or a massive 1TB.

On the software front, the MatePad Pro 13.2 runs on HarmonyOS 4, and it boasts a substantial 10,100mAh battery that supports 88W wired fast charging. Additionally, Huawei is introducing a new third-generation M-Pencil stylus and a Huawei Smart Magnetic keyboard, both of which are sold separately.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 comes in a choice of three colors: green, black, and white. In China, pricing starts at CNY 5,199 ($711) for the 12GB/256GB variant and goes up to CNY 6,999 ($957) for the 16GB/1TB version.
