Just two months ago, Samsung introduced its fifth-generation foldable phone with a clamshell design, the Galaxy Z Flip 5. While the phone is already available in various attractive colors, it seems that Samsung might be gearing up to offer even more color options. It’s rumored that the South Korean tech giant is working on a Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition.
The Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition: A Blast from the Past
Reports suggest that Samsung is on the verge of unveiling the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition. MSPowerUser recently released a few images of this upcoming foldable phone, and it appears to sport a fresh color scheme and a subtly different finish. According to the report, the phone’s rear will feature a pastel blue hue, complemented by silver accents on the sides. The back of the device boasts a matte finish, while its side rails are constructed from aluminum.
The majority of the phone’s design appears to be consistent with the standard Galaxy Z Flip 5. It seems to include a sizable 3.4-inch OLED cover screen and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Additionally, it retains a dual-camera setup and a USB Type-C port at the bottom. The remaining specifications, such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 3,700mAh battery, are expected to be on par with the original Galaxy Z Flip 5.
At this point, it remains uncertain whether the Galaxy Z Flip 5 Retro Edition will have a limited release in specific markets or if Samsung plans for a broader global launch. Historically, certain color variants of Samsung’s foldable phones have been exclusive to select regions. It’s also possible that Samsung will introduce the device alongside new accessories like cases and covers.
