As the year draws to a close, Microsoft has unveiled significant upgrades to its Copilot AI chatbot, incorporating OpenAI’s latest models, GPT-4 Turbo, and the advanced image generator DALL-E 3. These enhancements mark a substantial improvement in the service’s overall functionality, just in time for its one-year milestone. Although, do AI chatbots celebrate birthdays?

One major update involves the integration of OpenAI’s state-of-the-art large language model, GPT-4 Turbo. Copilot users can now tackle intricate tasks that would previously overwhelm earlier versions of the software. While the prior generation accepted only 50 pages of text as input, GPT-4 Turbo raises the bar to an impressive 300 pages, resulting in more meaningful responses to user queries. Currently undergoing testing with select users, wider availability is expected in the coming weeks.

Additionally, Copilot now features integration with the latest DALL-E 3 Model. This enhancement ensures the generation of higher quality images with increased accuracy, aligning more closely with the provided prompts. The tool is readily available for Copilot users, and you can explore it here.

A range of new features is on the horizon for Copilot users. The Inline Compose tool introduces a rewrite menu, allowing users to select a block of text for the bot to rewrite, a feature soon to be available for all Edge users.

Coders are in for a treat with the introduction of Code Interpreter, a new feature set enabling users to execute complex tasks such as data analysis, visualization, and coding. Although details remain scarce, Microsoft assures that it will cater to a variety of coding needs. Currently in beta, Code Interpreter is slated for a broad release in the near future.

Lastly, Bing search is set to receive a power boost from GPT-4, enhancing the ability to handle expanded search queries on complex topics, delivering optimized results. Microsoft has detailed the workings of this upgrade in a blog post, highlighting its capability to search for multiple variations of a query simultaneously and filter out irrelevant information.

For more details on these exciting updates, you can refer to Microsoft’s official blog post.
