The Galaxy Z Fold 5 has officially launched its One UI 6.0 beta program in select markets, expanding beyond the USA and India as we reported yesterday. Prospective testers in the UK can now access the One UI 6.0 beta firmware as well.

Similar to yesterday’s update, the UK version carries the firmware version ZWJ2. According to a screenshot shared by a user on XDA-Developers, this update also includes the October 2023 security patch. Notably, it weighs in at approximately 2.7GB, which is a substantial size, even for a new iteration of One UI.

For Galaxy Z Fold 5 users in the UK looking to participate, enrollment in the One UI 6.0 beta program can be done through the Samsung Members app. However, it’s advisable to familiarize yourself with Samsung’s beta program and be aware of the associated risks before taking part.

Anticipated Public Release of One UI 6.0

Samsung has not yet announced a specific release date for the public rollout of One UI 6.0 for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Nevertheless, the company made a formal announcement of One UI 6.0 at SDC23 earlier this week, with expectations running high for the first public build to be launched before the year’s end. It’s likely that the Galaxy S23 series will be among the first to receive the update, given their extended testing period. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 should follow closely behind this flagship lineup.

One UI 6.0 introduces a plethora of changes, including a redesigned Quick Panel, the introduction of a system-wide font named One UI Sans, enhancements to the music playback widget, improved pop-up windows, simplified home screen icon labels, a new emoji design for the Samsung keyboard, an improved content sharing screen, updates to the Weather app and widget, numerous improvements to the Camera and Gallery apps, and various other enhancements.
