The much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Ring, initially rumored for a January 2024 launch alongside the Galaxy S24 lineup, now faces a delay, with expectations pointing to a debut in either Q3 2024 or Q1 2025, according to a report by the South Korean publication, The Elec.

The publication suggests that the design of the Samsung Galaxy Ring has not yet been finalized. At its current stage of development, the Ring boasts numerous features but is considered too large for commercialization. Samsung is actively working to reduce the size of the Galaxy Ring while ensuring it retains as many functions as possible.

Notably, the Samsung Galaxy Ring won’t be limited to just one size option. The South Korean conglomerate is collaborating with several companies, including Doosung Tech and Korea Seongjeon, to create a Galaxy Ring model available in four different sizes.

The source further indicates that Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Ring in Q3 2024, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6. However, this timeline hinges on Samsung’s decision regarding medical device certification for the Galaxy Ring, a process that could potentially extend for several months. If certification is pursued, the launch may be postponed until Q1 2025.

In addition to these developments, Samsung is reportedly exploring the possibility of creating a Galaxy Ring that is compatible with extended reality (XR) and mixed reality (MR) devices.
