Xiaomi held its global launch event in Berlin today, unveiling not only the Xiaomi 13T series but also introducing new devices. Among the highlights are the latest smartwatch from Xiaomi, named Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, and the global release of the Smart Band 8.

Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is a feature-packed smartwatch running on Google’s Wear OS, offering a wide array of third-party apps for download. It is available in both Bluetooth-only and LTE models, with the latter enabling you to make and receive calls, send texts, and stay connected without the need for a paired smartphone.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro boasts a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 600 nits. It includes an Always-on-Display feature and comes with 20 pre-installed watch faces.

Powering the watch is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 + Gen 1 wearable platform, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It also offers dual-band GNSS positioning, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and NFC connectivity. The Watch 2 Pro is water-resistant up to 5ATM and weighs 54.5 grams without its strap.

Xiaomi provides continuous heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring on the Watch 2 Pro, along with sleep and stress tracking capabilities. Additionally, it supports activity tracking for over 150 sports modes and features a Bioelectrical impedance sensor for estimating body composition metrics such as body fat percentage and muscle mass.

The watch is equipped with a 495 mAh battery, offering up to 65 hours of usage on the Bluetooth-only model and 55 hours on the LTE variant. Charging is facilitated through a proprietary two-pin magnetic charger.

The Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro is available starting at €270 for the Bluetooth-only model and €330 for the LTE model.

Smart Band 8

The Smart Band 8, also known as Mi Band 8, made its debut in China in April and features a 1.62-inch AMOLED pill-shaped screen with a resolution of 490 x 192 pixels. Band 8 supports Always-on Display functionality and offers a peak brightness of 600 nits.

Similar to its predecessor, Band 7, it provides health and fitness tracking features, with new interactive fitness courses that utilize the Band 8’s accelerometer to monitor your movements in real time.

Xiaomi is emphasizing style with the Band 8, offering multiple official strap options made from materials such as leather, nylon fabric, and metal in various styles. Additionally, Xiaomi is introducing a pendant accessory and a clip that can be attached to your shoes for more advanced tracking and posture monitoring.
